Video Professor Awards

The Video Professor lessons have been teaching people the computer skills that they require for twenty years. There are millions of happy customers to attest to the excellence of the Video Professor products, and while the rave reviews of satisfied customers speak volumes, the products have also been the recipients of numerous awards. For as long as the “What-You-See-Is-What-You-Do” teaching method has been educating people, the Video Professor has been recognized as a leader in its field, especially in film and video production, as well as marketing and communication creativity.

Most recently, Video Professor teams won two MarCom Creative Awards for outstanding achievement by marketing and communication professionals. The very deserving creative services and production teams are the ones responsible for the Video Professor commercials and packaging. These are the same teams that have made Video Professor a household name and nearly synonymous with the term “infomercial.” When one thinks about television commercials or infomercials, one of the initial images in your head is John Scherer talking about his distance learning programs saying “try my product.”

Of the two MarCom Creative Awards, the highest was bestowed upon the creative services and production teams for their work on the “Learn EBay” commercial. The minute long clip was given a Platinum Award in the Television/Single spot category. For excellent packaging, the Video Professor “Internet Security” tutorial was awarded a Gold Award in the Design/Packaging category. Impressively, the “Internet Security” tutorial single CD was also given an honorable mention in the Design/Illustration/Graphic Design category.

The Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals holds the competition for marketing and communication professionals who are instrumental in the conception, writing, and design of marketing and communication programs and print, as well as audio and visual materials. Entrants and winners vary from individual communicators to Fortune 50 companies, which act as a testament to the prestige of the MarCom Creative Awards, as well as the immense size that the competition has reached. Recent entrants have included corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies, and freelancers.

Not to be outdone, the Video Professor film and video production team have received numerous Aurora Awards for three years in a row. These awards are distributed for excellence in film and video production, and the Video Production in-house production team has garnered many. A Platinum Best of Show Award was bestowed upon the “Learn How to Buy and Sell on eBay” tutorial in the Technology/Computer Training category. Three other lessons won Gold Awards in the same category. These tutorials were: the “Learn Wireless Networking,” the “Learn the Internet with the AOL Service,” and the “Learn How to Buy and Sell on eBay” tutorials. This was the third year in a row that Video Professor gained such success in the Aurora Awards competition and past awards have included Best of Show.

The Aurora Awards are given to people in the film, video, and multimedia industries whose products display the ability to captivate their audiences and hail from private and corporate production groups, advertising agencies, and television stations. The competition provides a venue for programs, CD ROMs, and commercials to compete on an international level, which may otherwise not be possible. Having become such a large competition, entrants come from all over the United States, Canada, Hong Kong, Denmark, and Mexico among other countries.
